MP3SPI project has been officially launched on February 2004. The goal is to provide a Java™Sound SPI (Service Provider Interface) that supports MP3 audio format. Indeed, it was born with JLayer and jlGui (MP3 player) a few years ago but it was not supported until now.
The MP3SPI package is licensed under LGPL.
The MP3SPI project is volunteer-driven. We don't have any specific requirement for volunteers other than willingness to really contribute while following the projects goal. Anyone wanting to join the development effort should send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org where all development efforts are coordinated.
