reconstruction from SAR stereo images. The method is based
on pre-processing the original images by employing an
optimal filter which supresses speckle noise and enhances
relief structures that are afterwards used by matching

noted that when dealing with gradient amplitude images
all pixels of the image are taken in account, as
opposed to the use of edge images, in which only the local
maxima of the gradient amplitude - that is a few pixels
- are employed for further processing [...]
